About
Island Visions is a family run Buisness and has over 40 years of experience in photography. Susan Russell............... started taking photos back in the 1960's while working for the small company "Jolly Photo" down on Shanklin beach. Susan would take photos of families and holiday makers during the daytime whilst they (and herself) were having fun in the sun! The film would quickly be developed in a small makeshift darkroom and the photos would then be offered back to them at the end of the day for a small fee. Natalie de Gruchy............... previously studied art and photography at A level. She is a great photographer and has excelent skills in portrait photography, taking commission work including weddings, events, gigs etc. Jamie Russell............... (our main photographer) has been interested in photography since the early 1990's. By the late 90's he had work published in magazines and also shown on well known Television programmes such as "The sky at night" This interest continued over the years and was given an extra boost when digital came along due to the ease of printing out his work. Jamie no longer gets involved with the buisness side of photography, but instead he supplies about 90% of the images for Island Visions and asks for nothing in return (apart from a little credit!) So have a browse through, the dynamic mixture of photography will catch the eye of people with even the shortest attention span! As for the equiptment, we use a selection of DSLR's, these are: Fuji S5 pro, Nikon D50, Nikon D80, Nikon D2xs, Nikon D300, and also a traditional Nikon f80 35mm film camera, these are completed with a whole selection of Nikon and Sigma lenses. We print on Epson archival matte paper as standard and use an Epson R1800 printer for all standard size prints up to 19 inches. For Prints over 19 Inches we use a Professional Printing Lab which takes a little longer but is well worth the wait! |
